Individual Career and
Job Change Services

At WorkTransitions we've developed a practical, step-by-step approach to help you figure out what you want from work and how to get it with as few compromises as possible. We work with people individually. The work is tailored to meet your needs and includes:

Identifying your criteria - You'll pinpoint what you have to offer and what you want from work by examining your history, skills, preferred working conditions and location, financial needs, limitations, passions, life priorities and dreams.

Setting your goal - Using your criteria as a guide, you'll brainstorm possibilities for work that could fit your needs, choose several options for research, investigate them, and select the work goal that best fits.

Moving toward your goal - Once you have a goal, you'll determine which strategy you need to reach it. Some clients move directly into looking for a job. Other pursue more education, start businesses, or modify their present job to meet more of their needs. Which strategy is appropriate for you depends on your background and your goal.

Conducting your work search - If you decide to job hunt as the next step, you'll develop an overall strategy, learn how to build solid contacts and surface job leads, develop a targeted resume, do a good interview, avoid landmines in applications and references, and negotiate for salary. Underlying all this, you'll learn how the hiring system really works and how to make it work for you.

Before undertaking work with you, we schedule a 50-minute diagnostic session, so you and your career strategist can decide whether it makes sense to proceed. This session provides the opportunity to discuss your situation as well as discuss how we work.
